Advocate for Patients and Providers
I have a unique perspective that allows me to advocate for both patients and healthcare providers. As a patient, I know how confusing and frustrating the healthcare system can be, and I use this understanding to help patients and their families navigate it. As a physician, I also know why the system works the way it does and how it often falls short for patients. I aim to bridge that gap to improve care for everyone.
For providers, I offer insights from both sides of the healthcare system. I help them understand the challenges patients face and how they can make improvements to deliver better, more compassionate care.
My Journey in Medicine and Healthcare
I’ve spent 15 years and over $300,000 training to become a pulmonary and critical care physician. But my experience as a patient with chronic illness has taught me even more about the strengths and weaknesses of our healthcare system.
I’ve also witnessed the struggles of my own family. My husband, with a PhD in experimental physics, left a doctor's visit feeling completely confused. I’ve seen my aging parents struggle to manage multiple specialists and appointments. These personal experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges patients face, and I’m committed to using that knowledge to help others.
